Referral from your GP or specialist.

A referral from a general practitioner or specialist is required. The referral should include a summary of the presenting concerns, relevant developmental and medical history of the child or adolescent, pertinent family history, and any information regarding risk behaviours or physical health concerns.

All referrals are reviewed by Dr Kedis to assess suitability. If there is no capacity to accept new patients or your needs are better managed by another psychiatrist, your referring doctor will be informed and it is the responsibility of your referring doctor to arrange alternative care.

If appropriate, you will be contacted to explain the assessment process and arrange for an appointment. 

If your condition worsens before your appointment, seek advice from your referring doctor. In an emergency, call Triple Zero (000), attend your nearest emergency department, or contact your local mental health triage service.

Appointment information

Consultations are typically 45-60 minutes long depending on the type of appointment. Please allow at least 60 minutes for your first appointment and arrive 15 minutes early to complete any additional paperwork.

Cancellation policy ( for in-person appointment or tele-health appointment)

Cancellations or rescheduling must be made at least 5 business days prior to the scheduled appointment.

In-person appointments may be changed to telehealth consultations upon request, where clinically appropriate.

Cancellations made with less than 5 business days’ notice will incur a fee of 50% of the appointment without Medicare rebate.

Same day cancellations or non-attendance will be charged 100% of the fee of the missed appointment without Medicare rebate.
